This website contains information about a class action lawsuit against Des Moines Public Schools related to the way DMPS used information about applicants' criminal backgrounds in their hiring process.

If you are an African American who applied for employment with Des Moines Public Schools between April 11, 2014 and December 12, 2018 but were denied employment because of a criminal background check, you may be a member of the class of plaintiffs certified in Robinson V. Des Moines Public Schools Case No. LACL136651.

The creation of this site was authorized by the Iowa District Court for Polk County to provide members of the class with updated information about the status of the case.
